National Literacy Trust
Words for life provides milestones, tips, fun resources and advice to help parents/carers support their child's literacy developments. Contains some fun themed activities as well as information about specific aspects of children's development.
Tiny Happy People
Tiny Happy People provides help for parents/carers in developing their children's language and communication skills. It shows why and how parents/carers can bond with the child/ren, before they are born and throughout their lives. The ideas and activities are easy to build into daily routines. They are quick and inspiring, based on expert advice and evidence and have been proven to help children's development.

NHS’s Start for Life website has lots of ideas, easy tips and activities parents and carers can do together with their child/ren. It reiterates the important message that some families may not be aware of that 90% of their child's brain growth happens before the age of five. Right from the start, all those little moments spent together with their child/ren are building their brains. Every smile, cuddle, chat and game makes a huge difference, helping them learn to communicate, develop confidence and make friends. The website has three Learning to Talk sections (0-6 months, 6-12 months and 1- 2 years) and two Learning to Talk and Communicate sections (2-3 years and 3-5 years) as well as two other sections outlining beneficial activities for babies and toddlers to do with parental input.
Parents for Life
The Institute of Wellbeing Offers a range of online courses including one entitled Parents for Life which aims to support parents and carers in engaging with learning activities around literacy and communication in a positive home environment. • Provides tools and resources to help parents/carers ensure their home environment is positive and promotes wellbeing. • Learn new ways to increase their child/ren’s language and literacy skills. • Supports parents/carers to discover how to increase their own sense of wellbeing which subsequently can improve your child’s wellbeing.
Help for Families
Speech and Language UK Families are provided with skills and confidence promoted to help their children’s speech and language development. It offers a range of guidance, ideas and activities provided by specialists including where there may be concerns.
